Why MVIS Is Ethically Driven

Ethics play a vital role in shaping a company’s reputation, influencing how customers, partners, and potential employees perceive a business. A strong ethical foundation builds trust, attracts talent, and reassures clients that they are working with a reliable and responsible organisation.

At MVIS, ethical responsibility is not an afterthought. It is embedded into how we operate, how we support our people, how we engage with communities, and how we design and deliver products to the roadside. From safety and wellbeing to sustainability and social responsibility, our approach reflects our commitment to doing the right thing at every level.

A Clear Commitment to Safety

Safety is at the heart of everything we do at MVIS. Our products are designed to improve roadside safety, but equally important is how they are delivered and the people who deliver them.

We invest heavily in training to ensure our teams are highly skilled, confident, and fully prepared to work safely in high risk roadside environments. Every member of staff who works on the roadside is qualified to HE Passport, which includes CSCS, one day Health and Safety training, and Manual Handling training, alongside additional role specific courses. This ongoing development ensures our teams have the knowledge and competence required to enter and exit motorway networks safely, with the same standards carried through to A roads and other high speed networks.

This commitment to safety protects not only our employees, but also the wider public and our customers. It also provides peace of mind to colleagues and families, knowing that robust systems, training, and procedures are firmly in place.

Safety is a core pillar of our T.R.U.S.T values. It underpins our products, our people, and our operations, ensuring that safety is never compromised in the pursuit of efficiency or growth.

Supporting Employee Wellbeing and a Positive Workplace Culture

MVIS recognises that ethical businesses are built by people. Looking after our workforce is fundamental to how we operate, because engaged and supported employees perform better, work more safely, and take pride in what they do.

We actively promote employee wellbeing through a range of initiatives, including access to an Employee Assistance Programme and three trained mental health first aiders who provide confidential support to any member of staff who may be struggling. This helps foster an open and supportive environment where people feel comfortable speaking up and seeking help when needed.

Beyond formal support, we place real value on workplace culture. Monthly welfare hours give teams the opportunity to step away from day to day pressures, connect with colleagues, and take part in inclusive activities. These moments help strengthen relationships, boost morale, and reinforce that wellbeing matters just as much as productivity.

By creating a positive and inclusive working environment, MVIS ensures that employees feel valued, respected, and motivated, which directly supports safety, quality, and long term retention.

Environmental Responsibility and Sustainable Innovation

Environmental sustainability is a key ethical focus at MVIS, particularly within product design and innovation. All new products are required to be solar powered to help reduce carbon impact. This ensures reduced reliance on mains power, full portability, and a significantly lower environmental footprint.

Solar powered technology allows our products to operate efficiently without the need for extensive cabling or external power sources, reducing disruption on site and minimising energy consumption. Battery life is extended through an extensive charging procedure, and end of life waste is carefully managed through safe disposal and recycling processes to limit environmental harm.

Sustainability extends beyond our products. Delivery routes are planned efficiently to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, supported by investment in modern 7.5 tonne vehicles capable of transporting multiple products in a single journey. This reduces the number of trips required and lowers our overall carbon footprint.

Within our facilities, we continue to implement environmentally responsible practices, including energy efficient systems, recycling initiatives, and onsite wildlife support. These actions demonstrate our commitment to minimising environmental impact across all areas of the business.

Giving Back to Communities and Supporting Ashgate Hospice

Ethical responsibility also means supporting the communities we operate in. MVIS actively engages in charitable fundraising, community initiatives, apprenticeships, and education partnerships. By working with schools, supporting young people entering the industry, and contributing to local charities, we aim to make a positive impact beyond our commercial operations.

A key part of this commitment is our ongoing support of Ashgate Hospice, a local charity providing vital palliative and end of life care to patients and families across North Derbyshire.

As part of this partnership, MVIS is hosting a dedicated charity auction to raise essential funds for Ashgate Hospice. The event brings together customers, partners, suppliers, and members of the local community, with all proceeds going directly to the hospice to support the continuation of its vital services.

Hosting the auction reflects MVIS’s belief that ethical business goes beyond compliance and accreditation. It is about using our platform, relationships, and resources to support organisations that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.

The event also gives our employees the opportunity to actively engage in charitable initiatives, reinforcing a culture of social responsibility across the business. This builds on many years of support for Ashgate Hospice through fundraising activities, sponsorship, and practical assistance.

Recognised Standards and Ethical Governance

MVIS holds a range of respected industry accreditations that reflect our commitment to ethical operations, safety excellence, and environmental responsibility. These accreditations provide independent assurance that our systems and processes align with recognised best practice.

Our certifications include ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety Management, demonstrating our structured approach to protecting employees and reducing workplace risk. We are also certified to ISO 14001 for Environmental Management, which confirms our commitment to minimising environmental impact and continually improving sustainability performance.

In addition, MVIS is accredited by Achilles and holds Constructionline Platinum status, highlighting our compliance with rigorous standards across health and safety, environmental management, quality, and corporate governance.

For our customers and partners, these accreditations provide confidence that MVIS is a trusted, compliant, and ethically responsible organisation.

An Ethical Approach That Delivers Long Term Value

By prioritising safety, employee wellbeing, environmental sustainability, community engagement, and strong governance, MVIS continues to build an ethical business that delivers long term value for customers, employees, and the wider industry.

Ethics at MVIS are not a marketing exercise. They are a practical, measurable, and ongoing commitment to doing the right thing, every day.
