When you have a reputation as an innovator, you could perhaps be forgiven for sitting back and accepting the label. But true innovators continue to push boundaries, forever exploring fresh ideas, products and practices that can continue to elevate an offering.
MVIS does just that, and now showcases a combination of two of its own innovations in a hybrid combination: The MVIS Portable CCTV VMS Solution.
Discreetly integrating a CCTV camera with the company’s hugely popular VMS-A unit, additional eyes are on the ground on site, without having to be physically present on-site. This creates a surveillance and feedback solution that can be used to both monitor and respond to situations quickly on site, as well as minimise human exposure to hazards and risks.
Variable Message Sign (VMS-A)
The MVIS VMS-A is a tried, tested and trusted traffic/crowd control solution used by councils, Highways England, retail, events management and many other traffic management groups to communicate vital information and safety messages all over the UK.
Featuring a 5-colour LED display for text or pictograms, the VMS-A is versatile and requires no external power source. Solar powered with a smaller footprint than MVIS larger VMS-C unit, it’s the ideal choice for the urban environment.
Messages can be updated remotely by either your team or the MVIS support team, via their web-based portal that allows for changes in seconds, allowing rapid response to changing scenarios.
Units are also deployed with security features such as GPS tracking and padlock covers.
Integrated CCTV
Integrating CCTV with VMS allows for eyes on the ground without having to be physically present. The visible presence of CCTV is well known to influence behaviour and help enforce rules.
The CCTV camera unit is a 1080p full HD, starlight night vision, IP65 weatherproof camera.
The combined use of MVIS technologies allow these units to offer an information, surveillance and feedback solution that can be used to monitor driver and pedestrian behaviour without having to be on-site, and do so with less footprint that requiring two units.
Fitted with a VSIM from Vodafone as standard, yet compatible with any UK SIM card (purchased separately), users can connect to the camera simply using a smartphone or the Windows & Mac client.
Graeme Lee, Sales Director at MVIS told us:
“As we continue to innovate and explore how our technology and products can better serve our clients, we continue to discover ways in which we can save time, space, expense or a combination of the three.
“Delivering across the UK means we are ready as ever to deploy quickly, and with a dedicated 24/7 support service our clients can be assured they’re never on their own with tech support or placement, deployment and content for the units.”
